Futsu No Shokudo Iwama

It is a famous set meal restaurant located just one block down Doguyasuji Street, and is one of the 2021 100 Famous Set Meal Restaurants. I visited again on a weekday Tuesday around 8:30pm, this is my 4th time. The restaurant remains popular as always, with most of the first customers being fully booked and more than 10 people being the last. This restaurant has a huge menu and a wide variety of set meals and a la carte items. I always find it useful. Today only, I ordered a set meal for 1,250 yen (hamburger + beef sirloin + potato salad + small side + rice + miso soup) + 70 yen for a large serving of rice. Beef sirloin was out of stock and was replaced with medium-sized short ribs. The medium-sized short ribs have a sweet and spicy sauce that goes overwhelmingly with the rice. The hamburgers are tender, and the famous fried chicken is the size of a fist, so even just one piece is quite filling. You can choose from 3 pieces of fried chicken on the a la carte menu, but I think 5 to 6 pieces is too much even for adults, so please be careful when ordering. If you eat a lot, we recommend getting a large portion for 70 yen, as a refill of rice will cost 120 yen. There is also a wide variety of izakaya menus, and in addition to set meals, there is also a large selection of alcoholic beverages, so it is a set meal restaurant that is also useful for drinking. Lastly, regarding the store door, please note that the bottom of the door is stuck on the floor, so you will have to use force to lift the door upwards in order to open it properly.

I visited for lunch on a weekday. I entered the store without lining up right after it opened, but there were many customers one after another. I get the impression that there was an overwhelming majority of people. I ordered dashimaki A. The dashimaki was harder than I expected, and didn't taste like dashi soup, which was disappointing for me. The braised pork belly was delicious. Would you like to try fried chicken next time? Also Kasujiru. Although it was only 1000 yen, I felt that the dashimaki set meal was not a good value in terms of volume.
